Gabriel Udoh is joining African Center for AI and Digital Technology as AI Ethics and Policy Analyst .
Gabriel is an AI Ethics and Policy Analyst with extensive research experience in the
fields of technology and ethics, artificial intelligence law and policy, smart city technologies,
robotics, autonomous weapons technology, and international humanitarian law. Currently a
PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Law, Europä Universität Viadrina, Frankfurt (Oder),
Germany, Gabriel won the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst funded position under
the VIP Fellowship program for the research project Weaponry: Laws and
Ethics. Gabriels other accomplishments include a fellowship at the International Future AI
Lab Artificial Intelligence for Earth Observation (AI4EO) in Munich, a Master;s Degree in
International Law, and certifications in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Gabriel is
also interested in programming for data analysis, UAVs, and small robotics, and is deeply
involved in discussions related to the ethical consequences of technological developments and issues of digital inter-depenedence between the global North and the global South.
